In a frustrating new development, the proposed bill SB-627, a bill that would allow CA veterinarians to write medical recommendations for their patients, was shelved until 2020. This move comes after requests for further amendments, including those proposed by the CA Veterinary Medical Board are being considered. The bill’s authors opted to avoid rushing to make the revisions, but in doing so, did not meet the assembly’s appropriations committee deadline. The legislative session is on recess until January 2020.
